It is almost swimsuit season.
This year, I’m sporting a new accessory: la linea negra. A Dios Mio.
Despite my personal insecurities, I am SO excited about seeing my little one play in the sand and check out the waves for the first time. We have three beach trips lined up already for this year and I couldn’t be more thrilled for our family and terrified to…get into a swim suit.
Still, I couldn’t help but get excited when the Supper Club of the South (another blog I am loving this week!) posted their recent beach bag essentials. No matter what is going on in my life, I can count on the waves to lure me back to the shore. Straw monogrammed derby hats and towels don’t hurt either!
In light of that recent blog post, I’ve decided to dedicate this particular WILW to get excited about beach season.

I am a HUGE bargain shopper. I never pay full price for any piece of clothing. Mostly because I know the moment that I do, there will be a sale on said article the following day. Also, I tend to find that if you shop around, you can find the same idea at a lower price point. Sometimes, you can find the exact same article at a different store for a lower price…I just don’t do well with full price.
I was REALLY excited to see a targeted ad for Banana Republic show off a horizontal striped blouse. After checking out that item, I looked at Old Navy and found the same shirt for a quarter of the cost. I love the idea of pairing the mint horizontal striped oxford with the mint or navy anchor shorts (somehow Polyvore couldn’t pull the navy regular sized shorts). Both are on sale for a steal today (60% off!)
I also LOVE the striped oxford short dress. I love an item that can be casual or dressed up. I can see this transitioning seamlessly from the classroom to a dinner out with a blazer and accessories.
I am a big fan of toe loop sandals and I am due for a new pair. I have used the same sandals for about 3 years and it is time to throw them away.
As I am hesitant to bear it all on the beach, I get really excited to see the trend of longline bikinis…or midkinis. Delias and Target have a great selection with cute bottoms to match. Also, I LOVE this maxi from Forever21 that can (and should) be used as a modest cover-up. I can see this going over well as I hang with B in the sand.
I found the most delicious diaper bag from Coach that I purchased before B’s arrival. Still, I cannot see myself lugging that to the beach (even though it is treated leather, it is Coach leather). The C Wonder travel tote is the perfect option for me.
Among my friends and family, it was no secret that I wanted B to be born on March 1. Why? The answer is a shallow one…I wanted to get an anniversary band with aquamarine stones rather than amethyst stones. I thought aquamarine was much more…boy. I realize the ring isn’t quite beach worthy, but it is something I am lusting over.
Also, check out these Loft goodies while there is still time… 50% off of EVERYTHING today! Thanks for the heads up from Pinterest Told Me to!
