Don’t get sad…get plaid!

October 30, 2014 By Bekah

Y’all…

My heart is so, so heavy today. It is October 30: two days away from Brittany Maynard’s scheduled “death with dignity.” I don’t know why she has affected me so much: maybe it is that we are the same age. Perhaps it is the love that she has for her husband, or the admiration she holds for her mother. I don’t know why her choice to end her life has devastated me in the deepest way imaginable. I ache for her suffering. I mourn for the loss of her future family. I am broken for her mother as she faces the most difficult trial this life has to offer: burying her child.

Her newest video made me weep openly. Sometimes I just don’t understand; sometimes I pray for a miracle. So…

Instead of getting sad, I’ve decided to get plaid. Shallow? Yes. But I have to wade in the kiddie pool today in order to avoid being swallowed by this deep sea of sadness I feel for Brittany.

For those of you who like my posts “light on words,” and heavy on style, here is my latest fall styling obsession: plaid.

Either that or I spend an exorbitant amount on reading personal news stories. Thanks for the love, Lynn. 🙂
