Benefits of a Home Weather Station

It is no secret that the world weather patterns are changing daily. We could blame factories, or multiple industries or even the guy next door who smokes tobacco but the truth is that the weather now isn't the way it used to be many years ago. Floods are more prominent, rain patterns are changing and droughts that were once extremely rare occurrences are becoming a more common occurrence over the news.

If mother-nature wants to have an attack on us, it isn’t possible for us to fight back but we definitely could prepare for her attacks. This would involve being able to predict the upcoming weather events and knowing the weather at the moment in our exact locations.

There is no doubt that our smartphones are an amazing hub of information and that includes weather too. The internet too has become such a diverse place to outsource weather information. The information on our phones is a great approximation of the current weather, but that's the thing, it is only an approximation. It could be right and it could be wrong which happens more often than not.

And we tried everything and just as we were on the verge of giving up, we decided to try one more thing, the home weather station. This truly was a game changer. It helped give us an exact reading of the weather of our location.

What Does the Home Weather Station Measure?

The home weather station works to efficiently measure the following weather indexes:

  • Wind speed
  • Wind direction
  • Rainfall
  • Outdoor temperature
  • Humidity
  • Solar radiation
  • UV radiation

What Makes this Device Special?

Well till you have it, you won't truly understand convenience. And actual weather station would require numerous contraptions to measure the weather that has to be spread far apart and are usually expensive. A weather station needs to have a rain gauge, a wind vane, an anemometer, a wet and dry thermometer and many other instruments that would probably take up your entire back year. With careful engineering and software, the home weather station can measure all weather indexes in a small compact package.

The home weather system measures the weather of the area it is in to give exact data and not approximations making it reliable.

It is battery powered and has an inlet for power but also uses battery power as a back-up so you always have your readings ready to go.

Its golden attribute is that it can connect to Wi-Fi. Well, this sounds normal as almost every device can connect to the internet, but its internet compatibility means that you could check on the weather that is over your phone from anywhere in the world any time of the day. It is also compatible with Alexa which is a neat trick if you have any Amazon devices.

As this device will be outdoors most of the time, it had to be made out of materials that are resistant to the elements. One user stated that he used the previous model of this model for about 12 years, yeah it is that reliable.
