Hey readers and HELLO FRIDAY. *Catcall.* There is nothing more attractive than a weekend, amiright?
Especially when said weekend begins with a concert…Tonight’s events reminded me that sometimes, I need to follow up from previous posts to keep y’all in the loop. So…this Friday, I’m focusing on 5 follow-ups that you NEED TO CHECK OUT! It will surely bring a smile to your face.
1. An Anomaly: Christian Rapper Makes it to #1 on billboard 200
When I began this blog, I knew I’d be sharing some of my opinions that many might disagree with. After all, I haven’t shied away from conversations of current affairs, politics, and religion. I have pretty solid beliefs that I am unabashedly bold in sharing…especially when given a blogging forum. Still, I wasn’t prepared for my first “negative-ish” comment when I wrote about Lecrae’s album soaring to #1 on the Billboard 200 charts. Instead of feeling rocked, I felt validated; I gave a stranger enough of a reaction to comment on my post. I felt like I’d made it. 🙂
Well, tonight will be my first opportunity to see Lecrae LIVE at the Tabernacle. I cannot wait. Along for the ride is my super-hot-husband as well as my favorite couple who has just returned to the Atlanta area. Pictures and many, many updates to come on my Facebook Fanpage thanks to Family Christian Bookstores.
2. The Tacky Truth about Jeremiah 29:11
When I shared the story of my friend who is just a little off in all the right ways, I was overwhelmed by the response from my readers.
Good Day Atlanta recently aired a segment giving more details about the Hire Hope program. Check it out:

3. I’m a little jealous of Jessa Duggar
So, I’m sure by now you’ve heard that little Jessa got married. And MY GOODNESS was she a beautiful bride.
I’m sure you’ve heard that she decided to save her first kiss for a private moment shared only between the two of them. Then this particular photo stirred some controversy….oddly enough…
I mean, they’re married and kissing. What is so wrong with that? Well, this led to this:
Which led to Jim Bob and Michelle taking the same sex kissing couple off of their fan page…which then caused some controversy. AND NOW TLC IS tossing around the idea of canceling 19 Kids and Counting all together because of a petition requesting that they cancel due to “hate mongering.”
My thoughts:
1. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
2. Duggars are not aggressive, and can take down anything off of their page that they do not agree with. I’m sure this photo was not the worst thing they’ve taken off of their fan page.
3. If a pro-traditional marriage advocate posted something that didn’t align with their opinions about marriage equality, the page administrators would likely take down said post.
4. Duggars love everyone. We believe in the same God and our God calls us to love one another.
5. Just because Duggars disagree with some of their viewers DOES NOT make them “hate mongers.” It simply means they disagree with some of their viewers.
Let me say that again…just because someone disagrees with your opinion does not mean that they hate you.
The end.
Moving on…
Sometimes it just helps to put it all out there. I have been so incredibly encouraged over the last few days by my readers and fellow bloggers to find my passion in this whole project again. I already feel the weight of it all lightening as releasing some of the negativity helped me to try to see the positives.
Also, Bear continues to crawl around in his crib AND crawl backward. No updates yet. Rest assured you all will know when he crawls forward. 🙂
5. Oh hey Friday! (5 House Divided Problems)
In case you haven’t heard…UGA was victorious in the match-up last Saturday. This weekend, painful as it is, I become a VOLUNTEER FAN! Hopefully we get a shot at winning the SEC.
As for my sweet husband…he and I avoided (real) conflict in our home…Sure, there were some squabbles (our special teams guy TOTALLY DID NOT RUN INTO AU’S SPECIAL TEAMS GUY), but I actually fell asleep watching the game when we got to a comfortable lead. I guess that’s one way to quell any arguments…
BONUS: 6. The Problem with Breaking the Internet
The World’s best Father totally repaired the interwebs. You’re welcome.
Have a wonderful weekend!
